Verizon Wireless recently launched the Motorola Krave ZN4 in the American market.
The 4.6-ounce phone, produced exclusively for Verizon Wireless, has a 2.8-inch touch screen and an interactive clear flip screen on top of it. The design is reminiscent of Motorola's Ming line of smartphones, and users can get one-touch access to features and services without opening the phone. A side lock key prevents accidental usage of the touchscreen.
The Krave supports Verizon Wireless V Cast services like Mobile TV, Music with Rhapsody, as well as the VZ Navigator, which enables users to watch videos, TV shows, listen to music, and download directions. While Motorola says that the Krave is foremost a phone, there’s also a 2 megapixel camera with video support, an accelerometer that automatically switches between landscape and portrait viewing modes. It also has a HTML browser.
"The clear, touch-enabled flip over the large, high-resolution touch-screen is nothing like you've seen and yet it's totally intuitive," said Ken Hallman, VP of Motorola's mobile devices, in a statement.
The Krave ZN4 is available through Verizon Wireless only for a price of USD 150, after a USD 50 mail-in-rebate. Krave buyers can deck out their phone with additional services such as a TV and music at USD 13 to USD 15 per month, visual voicemail at USD 3 per month and GPS navigation at USD 10 per month. |
