IBM Brings Schneider Electric Onboard to Build 1st Green Data Centre in India |

International Business Machines (IBM) announced this week that it has decided to utilize Schneider Electric’s expertise in energy management for the Green Enterprise Data Centre being built for Bharti Airtel, a first for IBM in India.
The contract, which is slated to be completed by March 2009, will see Schneider design and provide Electrical Distribution, Building Management / Security System, High Density Cooling and Critical Power solutions.
Speaking about the achievement, Mr. Olivier Blum, Managing Director, Schneider Electric India said, “Data Centres have been recognized as one of the major energy consumers in the world. Nearly 2% of world energy is today being utilized by Data Centres. IBM’s choice confirms Schneider Electric’s leading position as a one-stop energy management solution provider for Data Centres. Schneider Electric’s products and solutions make energy safe and reliable, while reducing substantially energy costs and impact on environment through energy efficiency.” |
