EA Games Unleashes Spielberg’s Boom Blox

Electronic Arts has officially announced Boom Blox, the long-awaited first game under its partnership with Hollywood director Steven Spielberg. Boom Blox, the first title of a three-game deal that Spielberg has signed with Electronic Arts, is now available in North America, and EA plans to have it on shelves in Europe on May 8, in Asia on May 13, and in Japan on May 22.

Players in this game make their way through almost four hundred levels of strategic destruction. The game has single player, co-op, and versus multiplayer options to play. With over a cast of more than thirty wacky characters with distinct personalities and behaviors, this game includes four themes: Tiki, Medieval, Frontier, and Haunted.

Adding on to it, players can even remix any existing levels in the game in this unique mode using any props, blocks, or characters that have been unlocked throughout the game. Plus, their designs can then be shared with friends or used to challenge others to solve their newly created puzzle via WiiConnect24.

“I'm a gamer myself,” says Steven Spielberg, “and I really wanted to create a video game that I could play with my kids.” Boom Blox, he explains, “combines action with the unique opportunities that the Wii motion-sensitive controllers offer. I've been playing the Wii with my family and I was intrigued by its possibilities.”

Boom Blox, developed at EA Los Angeles under the EA Casual Entertainment Label, is rated 'E' for everyone by the ESRB, 3+ by PEGI, and 6+ by the USK. The game will cost USD 50.
