Hewlett Packard (HP) Monday announced technologies that integrate virtualization capabilities into its ProLiant server platform in a move that aims to give customers speed and simplicity when virtualising their environments.
The HP ProLiant iVirtualization technologies – a joint effort by VMware, Citrix and Microsoft- will be integrated directly into the ProLiant server using features that leverage customers’ existing server management tools. As such, when a server is powered on, it is automatically and immediately configured into a fully capable virtualization environment.
HP claims that through this, companies will not only be able to adopt virtualization faster and with ease but with HP Insight Control, iVirtualization can increase business agility, improve quality of service and streamline infrastructure management.
“iVirtualization combines our industry-leading ProLiant servers with multiple virtualization technologies, then adds a high level of integration and management capabilities to deliver an unrivaled user experience,” said Aman Dokania, Director and General Manager, HP Infrastructure Software, HP Asia Pacific and Japan.
Designed for both small and medium sized businesses as well as enterprise customers, iVirtualization portfolio includes; HP ProLiant iVirtualization powered by VMware ESX 3i, HP ProLiant iVirtualization powered by Citrix XenServer, Microsoft Hyper-V Server for HP ProLiant iVirtualization and HP ProLiant Virtual Console. |
