Huawei Indonesia to Expand Local Talents

 

 

Huawei Technologies, provider next-generation telecommunications networks is set to double its headcounts in Indonesia to 2,000 employees in 2008 as part of its regional expansion programmed. Its wholly-owned unit in Indonesia, PT Huawei Tech Investment, will increase its work force from existing over 1,000 employees of whom 85% are local in year 2007 to 2,000 employees in year 2008.

"Our business in Indonesia is growing so fast within the past few years and we would like to hire more talented local people to grow together with Huawei to serve Indonesia in telecommunication sector," said Ma Yue, President Director of Huawei Tech Investment.

Huawei has been steadily expanding its operations outside of China since 1996. In year 2007, the company’s global contract sales has reached USD 16 billion, of which 72% was generated from the international market. Indonesia is actually considered as one of the most strategic markets for telecommunications area in the world. PT Huawei Tech Investment itself had started its business in Indonesia in year 2000 and has becoming one of the leading communications suppliers for Indonesia major operators to serve and improve the telecommunication needs of Indonesia people.

Currently, PT Huawei Tech Investment realized the importance in providing cost effective and value added telecom solutions to support Indonesia’s telecommunication infrastructure in the areas like GSM, UMTS, CDMA, Transmission and Data, Access Network, Core Network, VAS and Terminal. 

Nevertheless, PT Huawei Tech Investment is also committed to support local communities by contributing its technology and sharing experiences. Currently, due to rapid business expansion and deliver a better service to its customers, PT Huawei Tech Investment is planning to establish a local R&D centre in Jakarta, service centers in every region in Indonesia and regional spare parts centers in Sumatera, Kalimantan and Sulawesi.
