Qualcomm Incorporated a developer and innovator of Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) and other advanced wireless technologies has appointed a new Executive Vice President.
Mr. Jing Wang, who was previously senior vice president and chairman of Qualcomm, will assume his new role and take responsibility for driving Qualcomm’s continued growth in the Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa regions. He will also serve as a member of Qualcomm’s executive committee.
In his prior role Mr. Wang played an important role in driving CDMA’s adoption and growth in China and South East Asia, in formulating and implementing Qualcomm’s business strategies throughout the Asia Pacific region and in building strong relationships with Chinese telecommunications equipment manufacturers.
“His [Mr. Wang] leadership of Greater China and Asia Pacific has greatly benefited Qualcomm. His expanded role will enable him to bring his strategic expertise, dedication and commitment to a much larger area, extend his valuable relationships into more markets around the world and further drive 3G CDMA’s global momentum in some of the most dynamic and growing wireless markets in the world,” said Dr. Paul E. Jacobs, CEO of Qualcomm.
Qualcomm said in prepared statement that this move is part of a wider effort to add more global representation to its executive leadership team and unify its services-related businesses to better reflect the markets in which they operate. |
