Indonesian Multifunction Laser Printer Market to Slow Down in ‘08

IDC predicts that the Indonesian market for multifunction laser printer is set to decrease from the shipment and revenue side with high inflation being a key factor influencing the market.

Tony Hendrawan, IDC’s Indonesia analyst told SDA Asia that shipment for this quarter has decreased by 9% when compared to the same quarter last year. Overall, multifunction printer products with printer based configuration still dominate the market.

From the revenue side, products with copier based configuration have contributed the most, around 82% for all product value.

In the third quarter of 2007, Hendrawan said that although revenue plummeted, a significant positive growth was also noted than in the same period, which was around 39%.

Hendrawan said that import regulations will continue to influence the market and shipment in the next quarter but sees much potential in the product and believes that once the market is more aware of the benefits that come with a multifunction laser printer, its adoption rates are set to only grow.
