Swiss computer peripherals company Logitech has launched a remote control that has only minimal buttons, and a touch screen from where one can control all functions of a TV, VCR, DVD, audio player.
Called as Harmony 1000, the remote with 3.5-inch LCD colour touch-sensitive screen displays important controls. It displays activity icons such as: Watch TV, Watch a Movie, Listen to Music, or Play Games. Once an activity is selected, the screen reveals only those controls that are needed for enjoying that activity.
There are also nine fixed buttons 0n the right hand side of the remote, including volume up and down, channel up and down, and a directional navigation pad comprising basic controls for most activities.
Logitech claims the Harmony 1000 can work on any device with an infrared receiver, such as VCRs, digital video recorders, high definition televisions, and many household appliances.
It comes with built-in rechargeable batteries, and a convenient charging stand. |
