Communication and Information Technology provider Verizon announced yesterday that it has completed its acquisition of Cybertrust.

According to a release, customers from both companies can expect to access an integrated portfolio of both companies’ assets, products and professional services under the new name “Verizon Business powered by Cybertrust”.

With a combined staff strength of more than 1,100 professionals Verizon is planning to expand globally throughout Americas, Europe, the Middle East and Asia Pacific.

“With our newly expanded world-class security capabilities, Verizon Business is enabling customers to better secure their businesses. We are uniquely positioned to help as an organization moves into the era of the extended enterprise where data must be stored and secured from location to location, from partner to supplier, from the private network to the public Internet, from the desktop to the cell phone, and everywhere in-between,” said Nancy Gofus, senior vice president and chief marketing officer for Verizon Business.

The newly enhanced Verizon Business Security Solutions suite will deliver end-to-end, multilayered security protection from the customer’s premises to the Verizon Business global IP network and includes:

•Professional Services comprised of governance, risk and compliance analysis, application assessments, and forensics and incident response services. This includes 300 dedicated professional services consultants located around the world.

•A full suite of premise and network-based Managed Security Services, consisting of Denial of Service, Managed Email, Managed Devices and Managed Intrusion Protection and Detection Systems

•Identity and Access Management

•Threat and Vulnerability Management

•Partner Security Programs

•Security Certification Programs

Verizon Business also acquired Cybertrust’s ICSA Labs, which will remain an independent division of the company. ICSA Labs is considered the gold standard of security product certification, having tested and certified 95 percent of the installed security products on the market today.

Verizon Business continues to operate seven Cybertrust Security Operations Centers in the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia-Pacific.

“Security, mobility and the extended enterprise are accelerating the pace of globalization,” said Gofus.

“Through the Cybertrust acquisition, Verizon Business is extremely well positioned to help enterprises meet these challenges head on.”
